Practices of Successful Exporters: Development of Export Marketing Guidelines
Robert Bradshaw and Mark Burridge
Volume 1, Number 1, Fall 2000, pp. 39~56

This paper investigates the international activities of 180 successful UK exporters. The research focuses upon the marketing strategies adopted by these firms and utilises this information to create a guide for exporters and policy makers which should assist with export development. The empirical work presented shows significant differences in the strategy and behaviour of successful exporters operating in different export markets, highlighting the need for an adaptive approach to exporting and suggesting that it is important for firms to match the requirements of specific export markets to their own capabilities.
